On my birthday, from my grandma and grandpa, I got a butterfly growing kit to hatch butterfly larvae. The butterfly home came in the box with the instructions and a little dropper to feed them. The caterpillars weren't in the box. They had to be sent in the mail. I kept waiting and waiting. It took about three weeks before they came. One day I caught a caterpillar and gave it to Justis, and that reminded me to check the mail to see if my butterflies had come. I opened the mailbox and there was a little box that said, "Open Immediately: Butterflies Inside." I hurried and opened the box and there was a container with five tiny larvae and the food they needed to eat to grow. Each larvae was so little, Mom and I were surprised. We read the instructions and put them on the shelf and watch them grow.

Encouraging Words
Madalynn is working on a new blog post. I wanted to post the encouraging e-mails I've received in my e-mail box in response to the e-mail I sent out announcing her blog, in the meantime, so she can enjoy reading them.
I wish I could share with you her joy in bringing me a written blog to "edit," watching her run for her camera every time she finds something interesting to photograph (which is often), and then sitting on the floor pecking out her writing on the computer.
From Grandma Chadd:
Hi Jae,
Tell Maddie I loved looking at her blog. Tell her to be sure to take a picture of her tea set that she painted so everybody can see how artsey she is, and I'll be looking forward to seeing some butterflies soon. I can't figure out how to make comments on blogs so just thought I'd pass this message through your e-mail.
Love,
Mom
From Alicia Addison, a very good friend from college:
Jae, tell Madalynn that I LOVE her blog! What a great idea for her to learn. You are such a great mom!
From Erin Pleune, my good friend here in Louisiana and fellow home school mom:
That is awesome!! I'm so impressed with her artistic ability, well, I know where she gets it from!!
Vince and Julie Avila family, very good friends we met through friends:
How Cool!!! It looks great!
Melissa Riche, my good friend and Madalynn's good friend Karlie's mom:
I love it! I am going to let Karlie do one over Easter holiday. She has been wanting one too.
JC Wilson, a good family friend and my Dad's cousin:
How clever & sweet Jae, thanks so much for sharing. God Bless/Jc

Pizza and Float Fun
Today we ate pizza and a float. Instead of pizza, my Dad ate a float and sandwich. that is another story. Itwas fun, as you can see on their faces. Of corse, Justis didn,t like his pizza but it was fun anyway
Mom's note: Daddy's special "float recipe" is lime sherbet with Sprite! So yummy. Of course, we do vanilla ice cream Pepsi floats, too.

The Latest Catch
Yesterday we came home from Luke's house in seperate cars. Me and Mom drove in the van and the rest rode in Dad's new truck. Me and Mom got home first, and when they got home Justis came inside and He said to me, "Get your camera." "Why" I asked. He said' Because Dad is going to pull the surprise out of his truck and there is this turtel.
